St. Pius X Catholic School’s Early Learning Center provides a quality Catholic school education for children ranging in ages three to five years. We are more than just a preschool, we are an academic enviroment preparing your children for their academic life.
The success of our ELC program is due in part to the remarkable teachers and loving support staff.
Read. Pray. Learn
Our teachers are educational specialists trained to recognize each student's individual level of learning, while teaching the fundamentals of a Catholic school education.
Our students attend weekly Mass, are taught the Sign of the Cross, how to pray the Our Father, Hail Mary, and prayer before all meals. Further religious instruction follows the
Allelu curriculum from Our Sunday Visitor.
Children in our ELC program are able to seamlessly continue their Catholic education from our ELC program into the first grade through eighth grade at St. Pius X Catholic School. In fact, life-long friendships have been established and continue well beyond the years spent at St. Pius X.
Our ELC program balances a centers-based, thematic approach with the
Superkids! curriculum from the Rowland Reading foundation and Zaner-Bloser, in order to provide our students with integrated learning opportunities through the introduction of new vocabulary, concepts and learning skills.
Daily small-group instruction provides multiple opportunities for children to be actively involved in learning, developing skills with teacher modeling, guidance, immediate feedback, and support. Small-group lessons focus on the most predictive skills, phonological awareness, alphabet recognition, and mathematics.
We offer Enrichment Classes to include introduction into Spanish, Computers, Art activities, Music and Movement, and P.E. in our school Gym.
We are fully accredited by the TEA (Texas Education Agency) through the TCCED (Texas Catholic Conference Education Department).
